Molecule of the Moment

I have periodically posted images of molecules. This particular entry is the structure of Lipitor, aka Atorvastatin, one of the highest selling drugs in the world. Among the classes of statin drugs, this molecule is used to lower blood cholesterol.

Nanotechnology Discussions

Dr.-Ing. Roland Platz of the MatFoRM at TU Darmstadt sent me this photo.

The group was having an open, public discussion on nanotechnology and used my nanotube image for the HUGE banner. It sounds like the nanotech forum was well-received.

Visions of Science 2005

The UK paper The Daily Telegraph sponsored a science photography contest called “Visions of Science 2005“

There are some incredibly amazing photos in the competition — including one of liquid crystals and surface tension.
