Reports of my demise are premature. I’m on a blogging hiatus for the moment, due to the combination of research, lots of manuscripts, and summer weather here in Ithaca. Expect a return within the next week.

I wish everyone (all three of you reading this) a happy new year and a fantastic 2005.

As all of you know, the recent earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean have caused an amazing amount of damage and it’s unfortunately likely that waterborne diseases like cholera and malaria will cause more disaster. Even though reports are coming in more quickly now, photos often say more than words: DigitalGlobe and WaveOfDestruction.org.
